What the development of MITC means for you as a local resident

A beautiful and unique development. As a local resident, the development may have an impact on you. Therefore, we want to inform you about the process as well as possible. Sometimes this will happen quickly and easily, and sometimes there will be a lot of work behind the scenes, for example carrying out various (necessary) studies and plans.

To inform you, we use the official moments in the procedure, such as those of the zoning plan. We share information via the newsletter for nearby residents and via this webpage. We also inform the sounding board group about the current status.

Development of the area

To properly develop the area, the development is being studied and elaborated. The Municipality of Noordoostpolder and the Province of Flevoland have drawn up plans for this. These plans have been shared with the local community and were available for inspection from 3 August – 14 September 2023.

Construction work

The RDW has awarded the construction of the new test center to contractor KWS.
The actual building will not start immediately; it is roughly expected to start around mid-2026.

It is expected that RDW will put the new test center into operation by the end of 2028.
