Connect & Create session on Smart Mobility yields more than ten new collaboration opportunities

From shared challenges to concrete ideas

During the session, participants actively addressed the question of how smart mobility innovations can be accelerated through collaboration between industry, government and education. By combining knowledge and perspectives, a rich picture emerged of shared challenges and possible solutions.

The result: more than ten potential collaborations, all stemming from the need to advance smart mobility technologies and better align them with societal needs.

Promising directions for collaboration

Within the ideas put forward, a few themes clearly stood out as most promising:

• Economic and social value creation
  Collaborations aimed at further developing smart mobility solutions that directly contribute to quality of life, accessibility and safety.
• Social acceptance of smart mobility
  Research into how users experience new technologies and what factors contribute to broader support.
• Physical testing in the practical environment of the MITC
  Including exploratory projects such as:

• • tests with vehicles,
  • internships related to testing activities,
  • and a possible V2X/C-ITS experiment in which vehicles and infrastructure communicate with each other.

In addition, several other directions were considered valuable, such as:

• development of digital twins,
• research into human–machine interaction,
• pen-testing and cybersecurity,
• and mobility data as a connecting theme for innovative applications.

All areas in which partners clearly know how to strengthen each other.

A growing learning community

With this session, the MITC is once again taking an important step in further building a learning and collaborative community around innovation in smart mobility. The intensive exchange between partners and educational institutions shows that working together leads to more insight, more creativity and more energy to actually get started with innovations.

In the coming period, the first connections and follow-up actions will be further developed into concrete projects. The MITC looks forward to bringing the ideas to life together with all those involved.

Outlook: next session on AI

The next Connect & Create session is already being planned and focuses on the theme of Artificial Intelligence. Partners will once again have the opportunity to jointly discover, deepen and set up new collaborations within a theme that is of great importance for future mobility.
